Passionate about designing beautiful textiles and trimmings for over 25 years, MJ Ramos created Bespoke Trimmings, LLC consulting services, to offer her expertise to manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers selling to the interior design trade.

After earning a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, MJ continued her studies for an additional two years focusing on the art of decorative painting, trompe l'oeil, gilding and furniture restoration. MJ trained in the traditional way of the guild system.

She went from student to apprentice, journeyman & master of decorative painting in 7 years. Working closely with the Interior Designers, Architects and private clients, her background brought a unique skill set to the creative process by using her knowledge of fine art, materials, color and texture to create bespoke finishes on any surface.

Very much en Vogue, decorative trimmings & embellishments are everywhere and enthusiasm is building from the runways to the home furnishings market. Demand for embellishment is the highest it's been in over thirty years, but access to the artists, mills and makers is not. Designers can use Bespoke Trimmings' consulting services as a bridge to the boutique mills & artisans of the world.

 

Decorative artists, handweavers, craftsmen and women have left the industries in both the US and abroad. Miss Ramos has found herself on a mission to keep the weavers, artisans and private mills viable by helping the trade create their own trim collections and by offering a variety of customization services hoping to assist both sides of the interior design process.
